Does not work for my Ipad Pro 11”3 of 4 people found this usefulkind of works with iPad Pro

Technically it works with the 3rd gen iPad Pro 12.9, but it is so slow working with RAW files. I read somewhere it helps to install the SD card into the reader first before connecting it to the iPad. This worked for me as far as the iPad recognizing the files. But the image preview takes forever to see which files to copy, and copying even only a handful of files takes way longer than on my old Macbook Pro with SD reader. I copied 7 RAW files from the SD card to Photos, and it took 3-4 minutes. So for now I don't recommend spending $40 on it, but hoping the performance improves once iPad OS is released.1 of 2 people found this usefulWorks perfectly. Does what it is designed to do.

Bought this to add an SD card reader to my new Mac mini. Because it has a short cable (about 2 inches), I bought a good quality one meter USB-C extension cable from another site. Works perfectly. I use it to import pictures taken with a digital SLR camera. macOS recognizes the SD card every time without having to unplug and re-plug in the cable, which is the case with some USB SD card readers. I've never been disappointed with Apple products.3 of 4 people found this usefulNot good

This unfortunately does not work well with iPad Pro 12.9 inch 3rd Gen. As another review said, it keeps crashing the Photos app, and I have to re-insert it a couple of times. Eventually it works but I don’t trust this product.
I originally got this product to make it faster to transfer my photos to the iPad. Looks like going back to WiFi is the more stable option. Any idea how this could be fixed? Is it a software/firmware update? Does getting a replacement adapter work?

Great product. Now you don't need a bulky old fashioned card reader ot a HooToo to get your media on to your MBP or iMac. Easy to use and of course super fast.1 of 5 people found this usefulNot working on iPad 2018

So I got this adaptor when I got my new MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018) when my old MacBook Pro (2011) died. As the new ones don't come with a card reader as my old one did. This works great! I use it to transfer the video files from my Canon video camera (haven't tested with my husband still picture camera yet). The transfers are much faster than on my old computer but that could also be the computer itself. I do not have a new enough iPad to try this with that so I can not comment on that, but like with the USB adaptors I feel most people don't review these things when they work and want to get another review on here saying 'yes it works fine'.14 of 14 people found this usefulWould not work with SD cards

The adapter never worked for me. I'll have to take it in for an appointment and hopefully get a replacement that works.43 of 59 people found this usefulLikes to crash

Not sure about the cause..but when I use this adapter to import multiple raw pictures taken from my Canon M50 unto the iPad Pro 11inc, Photos app likes to crash multiple times.
I have to keep opening up the photos app and click import before the app crashes.
Eventually, I have been able to import most pictures (sadly few I cannot as the app crashes even before I can do anything). But it is such a pain having to repeat “open the Photos and click import” until I’m able to import pictures from my memory card.
Just a note to Apple that I have the same issue with the Lightning to SD Card reader when I use it with my iPhone X.
If you are reading this Apple, please kindly review the multiple bad reviews against Lightning to SD Card adapter!!
The issue might have been related to the IOS 12.
Several reviewers mentioned that the adapter used to work prior to IOS 12.65 of 84 people found this usefulFast UHS-II RAW image downloads to your Mac
- Written by Curtis M from Cincinnati
I'm using this with a 2018 Mac mini to download pictures from my Sony A7R III SD cards. RAW image downloads really fast, especially if the card is UHS-II. I was able to copy 10 GB from a Sony UHS-II card to my Mac mini's internal SSD in about 40 seconds. On the card reader, there is a little mark to indicate where the top of the SD card is and you can easily tell when the card is inserted all the way.
Presumably this works well with all Apple computers with USB-C and the 2018 iPad Pro. I haven't tested the card reader with an iPad Pro.195 of 208 people found this useful Avchd reader for mac.
